La creativité est la teinte kaléidoscopique qui colorie la vie

This is better than a looking glass or a Wonderland.

Seeing isn't the same as creating*, after all.

*The difference lies within passiveness vs. activeness.

Create your own rainbow when the one outside is inaccessible

I fell in love with creativity as such lies the only world where the only rule is to not follow rules.

Je suis tombée amoureuse de la créativité puisque tel se trouve le seul monde où la seule règle dit de ne suivre pas les règles.

Music wave

Où les mots sont au-dessous, la musique remplit

Among the things I am forever happily indebted to (my left hand, my bike, and of course, my family, etc.), music remains at the top. In simpler terms, music expresses what words may never be able to.

After all, as Friedrich Nietzsche (quite aptly) summarised, "without music, life would be a mistake."

Pourquoi te plains de la main que tu as été distribué quand tu as la chance de dessiner la tienne?

Be a setter, not a taker.

How creativity relates with...everything else. Literally.

From programming plots and economic theory to homework assignments to crazy cooking to setting up dorm-gyms. (A special thank you to COVID for a few of these new skills...especially the last item)

  • 4 egg yolks (save the whites for meringue)

  • 1/3 cup plus 3 TBSP cornstarch

  • 1 1/2 cups water

  • 1 1/3 cups sugar

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 5 TBSP butter

  • 1/2 cup lemon juice

  • 1 TBSP lemon zest (finely grated)

  • 1 (9-inch) pre-baked pie shell

  • 4 egg whites

  • 1 pinch cream of tartar

  • 8 TBSP sugar

  1. Whisk egg yolks; set aside. Combine cornstarch, sugar, salt, water over medium heat in saucepan. Stir frequently and boil for 1 min. Remove from heat; add hot cornstarch mixture to egg yolks 1/2c at a time until half the mixture is added in. Pour egg mixture back into saucepan and stir over low heat for 1 min. Remove from heat and add butter, lemon juice and zest until combined. Pour mixture into pie shell.

  2. Whisk eggs in a mixer, then add cream of tartar. Mix until a larger peak forms. Gradually add sugar while mixing until a stiffer pek forms.

  3. Preheat oven to 375F. Spoon meringue topping over filling; cover completely. Bake for 10-12 min or until meringue becomes golden.

When life gives you lemons, make

Research to date shows that an activity such as baking a pie will actually induce stress-relieving effects. Various scenarios have attested to the therapeutic benefits of cooking: soothing jittery nerves, mending broken hearts, curing boredom, suppressing insomnia...Author Debbie Mandel of Addicted to Stress lauds the activity as a creative outlet that activates the senses - as opposed to the numbing effects of stress². Psychiatrist Carole Lieberman highlights the nurturing effect of the appreciation received from cooking for those one cares for. And yet for others, like cookbook author Lucy Saunders, cooking through heartbreak offers the opportunity to start from scratch, create something through pleasure and engaging the senses, with immediate results to enjoy.
